I’ve been hugely into shopping recently, and realising I don’t have a lot of summer clothes (I’ve kinda grow out of my previous ones), I’ve been asking myself: ”What are those pieces of clothing that I constantly reach for in summer?”. And that’s what this blog post is about. And yes, it is another list (sorry about that, haha).
Starting on the bottom, sandals are a must have in summer, especially if you live in a warm (or hot!) place on Earth. I LOVE wearing Ipanema flip flops, but some cute sandals with straps aren’t that bad either.
Jeans or stylish patterned ones – as long as you feel comfortable! My favourites though are high wasted jeans from Tally Weijl I believe, but they have to be more than 3 years old. I guess I stick with the phrase “old is gold” 😉
The best ones are definitely without sleeves, and I tend to stick with one-coloured (this means black/white/gray) tees, although I am a bit obsessed with stripes right now. So my favourite choice is one of my many navy T-shirts (I have like 5 of those, so…). And I love wearing jeans jacket or just simple Nike jumper over it when it gets colder in the evenings.
I just can’t skip this piece, it’s a must-have in my wardrobe. Whether it’s just for going on the beach, sitting at home and watching TV or those glam summer evenings, I need one. My favourite is actually from Top Shop, I’ve had it for 2 years (I think), and it’s kind of boho, which is not my usual style, but I just love it as it’s so easy to style.
I had to add this – I was shopping recently in Zara, which is a shop I absolutely love, but unfortunately I often can’t really find anything that I would wear every day. But they did have a sale, so I just popped in to see if there is anything worth buying, and I found this gorgeous black and white skater dress, with reduced price (I believe for 60%?)! And the funny part is, I’ve been looking for this dress everywhere since I looked at it in online store, but they were sold out in all nearby stores. Sorry, I just had to add this, I know it may be stupid, but it really made me happy.
They are a fashion staple, but more importantly, they protect your eyes from dangerous UV and X rays which can (in long term) seriously damage your sight. Of course there is a difference between 3$ and 500$ ones, but I’ve recently read somewhere that the price doesn’t matter that much (at least in our country), because sunglasses that hurt your eyes mustn’t be sold. So, as long as you keep buying at trustworthy shops, you’re good. But I’m sticking with my Ray Bans. Not only they look great, but I also know that my eyes won’t hurt.
That are some of my fashion staples, if you want, I can post some pictures to show you the idea, but I think you’ll manage. What are your favourite summer clothes? Let me know in the comments below.
Have a great summer, wherever you are!
Lots of love,
